Annual Migration release |

Every fall for the past 5 years hundreds of children have been helping us release butterflies for their migration to the coast. Magical Beginnings tags each butterfly with a small label that contains a unique tracking number and a phone number to call if you find the butterfly. Every winter we receive a dozen or more calls with findings all along the California coast from Natural Bridges in Santa Cruz to Pismo Beach in San Luis Obispo County. The children meet at the Toll House Hotel in Los Gatos California and
have an opportunity to learn about Monarch butterflies life cycle, food
sources, and their migration. Last year we had over 550 butterflies released
at once. This is truly an incredible event for the children and the parents.
We also have releases at the San Jose Children’s Discovery Museum and Wild
